On November 5, 2003, Garry L. Tyson became the 6th Pastor of Goodwill Baptist Church. Installation services were held in March of 2004.

Since his pastorage at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, Bishop Tyson's style of proclaiming the work of God has summoned hundreds to become members of the body of Christ and many have come back home because of his obvious love and commitment to his call of duty in the Great Northwest.

Bishop Tyson came to the Northwest with a vision from God for the people of God. To show the Savior, King county the King of Kings and the Pacific Northwest the Prince of Peace. He has brought new life into the body of GMBC by expanding ministries and creating others; such as the New Members Ministry and the (MOB)Men in Black.

Pastor Tyson adorns the title Bishop as a result of close observation and recommendation by his associates also well known ecclesiastical prognosticator, (devout men proclaiming the Gospel), to receive the title of Bishop because of his vineyard accomplishments and devotion to his calling.

Bishop Tyson and his wife Elder Tyson are regular hosts on the Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) broadcast live in Seattle.
